The Team
The Team consists of 8 Sisters, 4 Volunteer members and a Cook, working and praying together. Each brings her own expertise and experience to the running of the Centre, and each is adaptable to the age and needs of the various groups who use our facilities. Qualifications in Teaching, Youth Work, Management and Administration, Community Education, Prayer Accompaniment, Pastoral Theology, enriched with further experience in Retreat Work and Chaplaincy in schools, all combine to allow us to offer a wide variety of service to all ages, but particularly to the young.

School/Youth Groups
In consultation with the teachers/youth workers, we draw up a plan of work and activities which will best suit their purpose in bringing their party to Brettargh Holt. This may be in the context of a Retreat, or an extension of the topic being followed in the School's religious syllabus. Our aim, as Salesian Sisters, is to enable the young to explore and develop their own potential, through Personal, Social and Spiritual Education. We cater for both day and residential groups, but would strongly urge the latter where possible, since such an experience encourages a sense of community, of belonging. It gives time for interaction with their peers and their leaders: inhibitions are broken down, a new understanding of each other grows, and as a result the young people find the experience more enriching, more thought-provoking, and more spiritually uplifting.

Adults
We offer Team-run Retreats to Parishes and other groups, ranging from one day to a week. We are also happy to welcome individuals who wish to avail of the facilities, either for a private retreat or for a holiday. If requested, a member of the Team may be available for prayer guidance.

Numbers
Day Groups: we prefer to work with class units; failing this, not more than 50 young people.
Residential Groups - Main House: we have 34 beds (single and shared rooms); this number includes Staff bedrooms. Owing to Health & Safety rules, we cannot accommodate more than this number.
