Carol Service with Floods

Despite the floods that kept many people at home  – either dealing with the floods, or helping others – or being unable to reach the church because they were cut off themselves – a very happy Carol Service took place this afternoon. On Saturday night the River Kent had broken its banks and was a raging torrent that reached the steps of the church. By Sunday afternoon it was back in its course, though still exceptionally high. Lots of pupils from our school, Dean Gibson, joined us and we finished with mulled wine or orange juice and mince pies. River Kent back in its course
